Valley Search & Rescue joins Kentucky Search and Rescue Area
3 Team (KY SAR 3) and the Spencer County Search and Rescue Team to
offer SAR (L.A.S.T.) Conference annually each fall. These sessions provide
additional training The exercises also prepare team members and the
dogs for searches in all kinds of inclement weather.
The three teams hosted a SAR Conference at Lincoln State Park on Oct 31, Nov.1,2, 2003 125 individuals from several Tri-State teams and several dogs participated in stations dealing with basic search techniques, map and compass reading, mock exercises in compass and map work, search techniques, navigational skills, wilderness first aid and low incline work. |
